Working from home 2

We have 3 dogs..sometimes they are like toddlers…you know, like when you get on a call and they demand attention.

I can’t tell you how many times a noise comes from the outside and 1 dog barks, which prompts the other dogs to bark…and then they turn and bark and stare at me…like, are you going to get up and investigate what we hear?? (which is usually nothing)

UPS/Amazon/USPS/FedEx all tip toe around this house, they don’t like setting off the alarms either, but when they do get busted bringing the packages, it gets super loud in here…and it doesn’t stop on it’s own. How can I tell them that I want them to protect the house, to bark when some stranger comes in…but not these guys…one of them even brings your Chewy.com order??

Working From Home 1

Everyone thinks that you sit and eat BonBons and watch TV all day…not even close. Just because I am home, does not mean that I am not working…When I asked my co-workers what they hardest adjustment was for them, it was “training” their friends and family.

I had this conversation with my mother once which makes this story funny…

My mom was our house/dog sitter while we would go away, so one weekend we returned late on a Sunday night so she decided to stay. She would hang out until I could take her home. I told her that I had an important conference call at 8am and could not be disturbed, she said that was fine. She was awake before I closed my office door and I let her know I would open the door to let her know I was off the call…

10 minutes into my call…she is knocking on the door, asking me if I needed anything. I think my head started spinning

Working from Home series

I don’t know how long this series will be, but since everyone is now being forced to work from home, people that have never done this before, I started thinking about all of the obstacles, moments, laughs and some very aggravating issues I have come across.

I have been working from home for ~17 years and it is not as easy or as fun as everyone thinks it is.

Sure it has alot of good merits, but just as many difficult merits.

Stay tuned for some stories…

First Ride of 2020

Yesterday was my first ride of 2020! I rode the Aston Trail while Jen was at karate.

This was also the first day of the Covid-19 self-quarantine…I have never seen so many people on that trail. I stopped counting at about 150 people.
